Neigborhood Allies Kicks off FOC Training!Leave a Comment
Neighborhood Allies hosted its first Financial Opportunity Center (FOC) training February 2-3, 2015. Twenty local experts who provide employment and other social services to jobseekers and struggling families received two full days of training. Leaders from Mon Valley Initiative, Northside Common Ministries, and Oakland Planning and Development Corporation are preparing to formally launch Financial Opportunity Centers (FOCs).
These FOCs provide services to those seeking financial stability by helping them to build income and wealth and decrease expenses. Vicky Rodriguez, a trainer from Local Initiatives Support Corporation, brought new skills to the three organizations so they can effectively integrate employment coaching, financial coaching, and income supports assistance. Our thanks to Carnegie Library for the space, to Community Kitchen Pittsburgh for the food, and to Bloomfield Garfield Corporation for the laptops.
