Pittsburgh will receive $26,000 from the National League of Cities for its financial-inclusion efforts.

The city said the funding will go to its Financial Inclusion Systems and City Leadership, led by community development organization Neighborhood Allies. It and other groups will work to build the financial health of Pittsburgh residents, according to a news release from the mayor’s office.

“This grant will allow us to work with everyday practitioners to understand the financial challenges residents face and also find a way to measure our growth in true asset building,” Mayor Bill Peduto said in a statement. “I’d like to thank the NLC and Neighborhood Allies for being great partners in our quest to provide the resources necessary for improving the financial health to all residents.”
