Wells Fargo Grants $60,000 to Love My Neighbor! Resident Grant Program | Investing in Resident Leaders, Supporting Grassroots Neighborhood ChangeLeave a Comment
We would like to extend our great appreciation to Wells Fargo for seeing the immense value in supporting resident leaders by awarding us a $60,000 grant! This grant will go directly to support the growing Love My Neighbor! program and help to fund projects carried out by residents, for residents.
Guided by the Healthy Neighborhoods Framework and focusing on asset-based community development that is visible and immediate, the Love My Neighbor! program encourages community leadership and ownership, celebrates neighborhood image, expands networks among residents, and strengthens the capacity of new and existing resident-led initiatives. With their generous support, Wells Fargo is helping ensure these outcomes of the Love My Neighbor! program which ultimately lead to a healthier neighborhood and a greater sense of belonging for the residents that live within them.
By investing in the ingenuity, talent, creativity, and hope in our communities, we are providing funding for resident-led projects that aim to improve neighborhoods and engage neighbors. In 2019 alone, we have funded 47 resident projects, totaling $96,073 in direct funding to our neighborhoods! Neighborhood Allies believes that no one knows our target communities as well as those who live in them, and so we diligently work to create spaces for resident voice, provide technical assistance during the application process, train our Grassroots Grantmaking Committee to guide applicants as they fully develop their projects, and support our grantees to the best of our ability. From endeavors in arts and culture, to community garden projects, to civic education programs, these resident leaders aim to engage their neighbors and strengthen their communities.
Our work would not be possible without the tremendous support of funders like Wells Fargo. Thank you for your commitment and support of our mission to support the people, organizations and partnerships committed to creating and maintaining healthy neighborhoods!
